We had a wonderful stay at this luxurious hotel. The room was spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable, providing us with a great night's sleep. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our early arrival and departure. We were impressed by the beautiful grounds and the stunning views of the countryside and mountains from our room. The hotel provided exceptional service, with attention to detail and even small touches like a refreshing herbal tonic placed on our bed each day. The restaurant on-site was outstanding, with a menu that offered interesting and delicious dishes. we were delighted with our experience at this venue.
We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends.

The room was small but comfortable and had a door opened to the garden. Good veiw of the valley if the weather is good! Very good continental breakfast but expenive at 16 Euros per perosn.
The Restaurant food and drink was good and it seems that the expectaion was that it is the best ! Iit was very expensive for what it was! Especially, there were not any options but to choose a set menu which started at 26 euros per person and the cheapest wine 26 Euros per bottle! Certianly very disapponited to see no options given for both food and wine. To get to the hotel from the main Road ( Spain - France) was very busy indeed with long queues of cars. Not value for money!

We read about the hotel in Travel and Leisure and decided to stay here so we could experience the restaurant and the surrounding are in the French Basque. Even though the weather was cold and rainy, we had a lovely time. The meal at L'Auberge was absolutely fantastic. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We felt at home. Would recommend this hotel to friends who wanted to visit the area.

Can't fault the property in any way.

Very consistent design, well-executed.
We were on the top floor, in an attic room, which I do not like. I would have much prefered a smaller, regular room with proper ceilings.

Everything was perfect. In fact we had plans for an outside dinner and we regretted not to stay in the Auberge. It looked fantastic. There was such an impression of both modernism and tradition, and such serenity there.... Wonderful.
Sometime, the push for sophistication is a bit on the edge. A more simple breakfast would have been perfect.

The room was calming and tastefully decorated reflecting the heritage of the region with upscale but simple touches. Lovely welcome drink and treat petsented in the room upon arival. Cuisine was phenomenal - artfully presented, regional Basque foods with a gastronomic interpretation. Large french country breakfasts. Outstanding service.

The hotel was of an exceptionaly high standard
The restaurant was the worst I have ever eaten in. The choice of 3 meals for each course @ 46 euro per head , the local pig course (recomended) was inedible. The seasoning used by the chef was such a mish mash it was a though he was having a nightmare. A 11/2 hour wait for the main course, it was like watching a play as everybody pranced around and got nowhere. The choice of wines was extensive, and the prices, well think of a figure and treble it. Do not eat here unless you have money to throw away. As for the massage, they haven't a clue!!!

I had an amazing time at the hotel. the room where I stayed was lovely, with a very comfortable bed that helped me have a great night's sleep. the bathroom was well-equipped, and it had all the products I needed. the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and they went out of their way to help me with any requests I had. the breakfast was delicious, and it had a great variety of options. the view from my room was beautiful, and it helped me relax even more. I especially enjoyed the outdoor seating area and the location, which was near some great local attractions.
I was slightly disappointed with the limited facilities available at the hotel.

Love it - this is a near to perfect as you can get. Beautiful location, excellent blend of the modern and traditional, an eye for detail in everything, friendly and helpful staff and an owner who is not only well deserving his Michelin star but is a down to earth and committed individual. It has to be one of the finest small hotels in France

Restaurant staffs were not very friendly. Foods were as good as foods in the average Bistros in Paris, but not better than we expected.

Easy access to the French Basque country
The price was exorbitant for the fact that breakfast was not included, esp. When the hotel was out in the country. The breakfast offered was $25.00

Great Food and Beautiful Location
Over Easter weekend I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel in the countryside. The food was divine and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast in bed. , the views were breathtaking, and I loved being surrounded by nature. With key landmarks nearby, it was convenient to explore the area on foot. I appreciated how welcoming the staff was, making the stay even more pleasant.
The pillows were uncomfortable, and the air conditioning did not appear to be functioning correctly. The room's maintenance was lacking;
